Snohomish sits just off US 2 where the highway crosses the Snohomish River, a historic river town of antique shops and farm stands at the edge of the valley. The highway passes north of the old downtown, and the SR 9 interchange here is where valley traffic from Lake Stevens and Arlington joins the Stevens Pass flow. On summer weekends the farm stands along the corridor do brisk business with drivers heading for the mountains.
The river bridge and the SR 9 merge are the watch points. Fog settles on the flats around Snohomish on calm winter mornings and can cut visibility to almost nothing while the rest of the corridor is clear. This is still lowland driving, mostly dry when the pass is snowy, but the valley is where the weekend platoon forms: once past Snohomish, two lane US 2 means the pace of the slowest driver sets yours until Monroe.
The full Stevens Pass conditions page carries the summit story: avalanche zones, the two climbs, and the storm playbook.
Every camera on the highway is on the US 2 cameras page, in milepost order from Everett to Wenatchee.
